Travel Lover's Gift Guide // Christmas 2017

. Sunday, 3 December 2017 .
Do you know someone who loves to travel and you have no idea what to get them for Christmas? Or do have a burning wanderlust yourself but have no idea what to ask for Christmas? In that case, I've got you covered! These are some of the things that I, as an avid traveller, have either received and loved or would love to receive!

Journey Jar

This is something very new to me, but Journey Jar recently got in contact with me and I absolutely love their product so I just had to share it with you guys. Essentially the idea behind it is you get a necklace which contains pieces of earth from places you've visited. There is also the option to include insurance if you're buying for someone else, that way if you've gotten the countries wrong by mistake, the receiver can send it back to be updated. In mine I opted for just the countries that I have visited since I was 18, so that means: USA (New York), Thailand, Cambodia, Holland, Belgium, Greece, Italy, Scotland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Tanzania and Germany. (Technically I haven't been to Germany yet, but I'm off there very soon, so it made sense for that to be included too!)

The best bit is I even have a discount code for you guys! If you enter CHLOE20 at the check out you'll get 20% off your purchase*.

Lonely Planet Hardbacks

Lonely Planet have an abundance of books, so it can be difficult to decide on one to gift someone. I would recommend avoiding getting one specific to a country you know they're visiting soon, as there's a big chance they'll have already picked it up themselves if its something they want. I would suggest you're better off picking up one of their hardback, coffee table style books. This is something I feel people are unlikely to buy themselves, but they'll love and they make a great gift. Again there are a huge variety of these books but the two I would recommend are You Only Live Once and Ultimate Travelist. Both are books I love to consult when planning trips but also when I'm stuck at home with a serious case of wanderlust.

Microfibre Towel

Now this might seem like a slightly boring present, but it is definitely a useful one and your traveller friends will love you for it. A microfibre towel is essentially a towel that takes up very little space in your bag in comparison to a standard towel and it dries a lot quicker. So it is perfect for anyone who prefers a backpacking style of travel. The one I have linked is in the extra large towel, because personally as a female, I like my towel to be able to cover both my boobs and bum! But you could definitely opt for a smaller one if this isn't a issue or you want it to be even more compact.

Dry Bag

Again, a slightly boring one, but it definitely makes up for that in terms of its usefulness! Dry bags come in all sizes and colours and essentially they do exactly what they say on the tin; they keep everything inside them totally dry! These are great for anyone who loves water sports, or maybe someone who is going to be travelling through countries where it rains a lot. I personally travel with quite a lot of tech so its great for all that, but its also perfect for keeping essentials like your phone, passport and money dry. Another great things about these bags is when you're not using them they fold away really small. So won't take up too much space in your bag.

Chilly's Bottle

This gift is both practical and beautiful! Chilly's bottles are designed to keep drinks cold for up to 24 hours and hot for up to 12.  This is particularly a great gift for someone if you know they are passionate about environment, as it will allow them to cut down on the number of plastic drinks bottles they buy. Plus there is nothing worse when you're travelling in a hot climate than taking a sip of your water to discover its gone warm! I bought mine in the print Abstract 1, but there are so many different options! You can opt for a basic colour like the one in the picture, an abstract design, pastel colours, chrome or unusual designs like avocados or watermelons.

Scratch Map

Now onto some more fun presents. I personally love decorating with maps, and I know a lot of other travellers do too. The perks of this map is that the person receiving it will be able to personalise it to the countries they have visited. I am a big fan of documenting my travels and this is a great way to do it. There also loads of different styles to this type of map, with different colour schemes, sizes ect. so you can really find one that is perfect for the person!

Sass & Belle Luggage Tag

Luggage tags are an essential for any keen traveller, as no one wants to lose their belongings! But there is no reason why something so functional cannot also be super cute and Sass & Belle have hit the nail on the head! This gift is also on the more inexpensive side, so if you're shopping on budget or if you prefer to give a few small gifts this is a perfect option.

Savings Jar

Another item from Sass & Belle, this time its an adorable adventure fund jar. Perfect for anyone you know who wants to travel but is currently in the saving stage. Again its pretty inexpensive so perfect for smaller budgets or to combine with the luggage tag as a gift package.

So those are my suggestions for gifts that any traveller will love! If you're a keen traveller, what's the best gift you've ever received?
