5 Tips For An Enjoyable Monday

. Sunday, 1 October 2017 .
Now I can't imagine that Mondays are many peoples favourite day of the week. But unfortunately, no matter how much we protest, every weekend is dutifully followed by another Monday morning. However, it's not all bad news. I happen to have a few trusty tips that get me through every Monday morning with a smile on my face. Well, most Mondays anyway!

1. Preparation is key to everything! "If you fail to prepare, prepare to fail." Although I'm sure we'd all rather spend our Sunday evenings pretending that it isn't really Monday tomorrow, sometimes you've got to wake up and smell the coffee. Doing as much prep as possible the night before makes Monday mornings far less stressful. If you are someone who likes to snooze your alarm a few times then preparing the night before could allow you some extra time in bed. Or if you're someone who likes you have a leisurely morning it will allow you more time to peruse social media over your cup of coffee. I would recommend packing your bag with everything you'll need for tomorrow, making your lunch if you take your own and picking out your clothes to save time on decision-making!

2. Make the most of your Sunday! The only thing worse than having to get up on a Monday morning is feeling like you've wasted your weekend. Complete whatever little jobs you need to do, as there's nothing more stressful than starting a new week with tasks left over from last week. However, you should also make time to relax on a Sunday evening. Otherwise you spend all week stressed, then it just continues into next week so you never really get a break and just end up in a constant cycle. Even if you just spend an hour relaxing at the end of the week you really will notice the difference. I would suggest a long bath, watching a film on the sofa, a gym class or a takeaway. Anything you really enjoy and will help you unwind for a bit.

3. Make your bed. For some reason I just feel like people who make their beds in the morning have really got their shit together and if I want to be one of those people then I should act like it. Little things like making your bed in the morning will make you feel like you've achieved something before your day has even really started. Plus it reduces the temptation to crawl back into your bed, as opposed to getting ready for your day, when its all neatly made.

4. Put all of your morning products together in one place. This makes it far easier to get ready in the morning as you're not rooting around through different drawers to find what you're looking for. I use this little crate that I got from H&M home to store the products I'm most likely to reach for in the morning.

5. Plan something nice for Monday night. At least if you have something to look forward at the end, the rest of the day won't seem so bad. I tend to save my favourite meals to have for dinner on a Monday night, but again, do whatever will help you get through your Monday!

I'd love to know what things you guys use to make Mondays a bit more enjoyable, let me know in the comments!
